NACC arrests former army director in Phu Kradueng for intentionally avoiding asset declaration
The Office of National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the police have arrested former military equipment office director Major General Nantapop Woramit for intentionally avoiding declaring assets and liabilities, an offense under the counter corruption law.
On November 19, 2025, the NACC under the direction of Mr. Surapong Intarathawon, Deputy Secretary-General acting as Secretary-General, and Mr. Pattanapong Chanpetchpool, Assistant Secretary-General, assigned Mr. Charong Krohmat, Director of the Bureau of Investigation and Special Operations, Mr. Pairoj Niyomdecha, Director of Investigation and Intelligence Division 2 and other NACC officers from the division, together with police officers from the Special Operations Sub-Division, Investigation Division, Provincial Police Region 4, to arrest Major General Nantapop, pursuant to the arrest warrant No. 57/2025 from the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases Region 1, dated October 21, 2025, for intentionally failing to submit a statement of assets and liabilities and supporting documents to the NACC within the timeframe prescribed by law, which is an offense under Section 167 of the 2018 Organic Act on Anti-Corruption.
This follows Major General Nantapop's retirement from the position of Director of the Equipment Management Office, Directorate of Logistics, Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters. By law, he was required to submit a statement of assets and liabilities and supporting documents in according to the NACC announcement regarding the designation of government officials who must submit a statement of assets and liabilities under Section 103 and the 2018 Organic Act on Anti-Corruption.
Major General Nantapop failed to submit the statement within the specified timeframe. In response, the NACC sent a letter requesting the submission of the statement and an explanation for the delay, which the major general signed. However, he still did not submit the statement or an explanation to the NACC.
Then, the NACC issued three more letters to Major General Nantapop requesting him to clarify the facts and acknowledge the charges. However, no individual appeared to receive the letters. The Litigation Division therefore filed a petition with the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases Region 1, requesting approval for an arrest warrant. The court approved the warrant, pursuant to Warrant No. 57/2025, dated October 21, 2025.
Following the court's approval, the Bureau of Investigation and Special Affairs conducted a site investigation and discovered that Major General Nantapop was residing in Phan Ngok Khao Subdistrict, Phu Kradueng District, Loei Province. Consequently, a petition was filed with the Loei Provincial Court, leading to the search warrant No. Kor 492/2025, dated November 18, 2025.
The NACC, in collaboration with the Special Operations Sub-Division, Investigation Division, Provincial Police Region 4, then planned an operation that led to the arrest of Major General Nantapop, the suspect under the warrant, for further legal action.
Those who have witnessed corruption involving political office holders or government officials are encouraged to report to the NACC by calling 1205, visiting the NACC website at www.nacc.go.th, or contacting a relevant NACC Regional Office or NACC Provincial Office nationwide.
