A delegation from the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), led by Police Major General Arun Amornviriyakul, Deputy Secretary-General of the NACC, along with the Director of the Bureau of International Affairs and Corruption Investigation and accompanying officials, attended the 34th session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), held from 19 to 23 May 2025 in Vienna, Republic of Austria.

At the session, Mr. Wallop Nakbua, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Head of the Thai Delegation, delivered a national statement reaffirming Thailand’s position and commitment to combating emerging and evolving forms of crime, including cybercrime, online fraud, and environmental crime. High-level representatives from UN Member States and regional cooperation bodies also participated in the session and shared their perspectives.

Additionally, the NACC delegation, together with representatives from the Ministry of Justice, the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO), and the Royal Thai Police, held a bilateral meeting with the UK Home Office delegation. The discussion focused on Thailand’s laws, policies, and practices in handling fraud cases, aiming to support the UK Home Office in preparing for the Global Fraud Summit to be co-hosted with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and INTERPOL in 2026 in Vienna.

During the discussion, the NACC representatives clarified that the mandate of the NACC does not cover fraud offenses in the private sector. Nonetheless, the NACC expressed its full willingness to cooperate with the UK Home Office in matters relating to corruption within its jurisdiction.
