NACC Reveals ITA 2024 Results: 7,696 Agencies Meet Standards, Praises Increased Anti-Corruption Efforts

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) announced the results of the Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA) for 2024 under the theme "Transparency with Quality." Pol. Gen. Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit, Chairman of the NACC, along with NACC board members and executives, as well as representatives from various government agencies, attended the event. The results showed that 7,696 out of 8,325 agencies met the criteria, with an average score of 93.05 for government agencies nationwide, indicating an improvement from last year. This reflects the growing knowledge and participation of government agencies in preventing corruption and disclosing public information.

NACC Chairman Pol. Gen. Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit emphasized that the NACC has continuously prioritized addressing corruption and misconduct. The current approach focuses on "prevention first, suppression later," with ITA serving as a crucial tool that reflects the effectiveness of corruption prevention, good governance, and adherence to legal and strategic mandates. ITA is not primarily a tool to measure the frequency or level of corrupt behavior but rather to assess organizational management and anti-corruption activities, encouraging agencies to review and improve their operations to meet their goals.

For the 2024 fiscal year, the NACC has refined some ITA assessment criteria, particularly those related to "bribery" indicators. These adjustments include increasing the sample size for the Internal Integrity and Transparency Assessment (IIT) and the External Integrity and Transparency Assessment (EIT), revising the EIT perception survey, and enhancing the Open Data Integrity and Transparency Assessment (OIT). These changes aim to increase transparency and focus more on bribery-related issues.
