NACC Mukdahan inspects traffic law enforcement and monitors for bribery
The Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s Mukdahan Provincial Office (NACC Mukdahan Office) is monitoring the enforcement of traffic and land transport laws, particularly regarding bribery related to trucks not covering their loads with tarpaulins, driving in the right lane, illegal vehicle modifications, and overloading.
On June 29, 2026, Mr. Nirut Sukphokha, Director of the NACC Mukdahan Office, led a team to checkpoint Mor Hor 3019 to enforce the Land Transport Act of 1979 and the Road Traffic Act of 1979.
This law enforcement initiative follows the important directives of the Secretary-General of the NACC, who recognised the hardship faced by the public and prioritized seriously addressing the problem of illegal trucks on the roads. The focus is on stricter discipline and law enforcement in four main violations: trucks not covering loads with tarpaulins, driving in the right lane, illegal vehicle modifications, and overloading.
This field visit is a collaborative effort between relevant agencies including the NACC Mukdahan Office, the Mukdahan Provincial Transport Office, the Mukdahan Provincial Police, the Mukdahan Rural Highway District, the Mukdahan Highway District, the Amnat Charoen Highway Police, and representatives from the STRONG network in Mukdahan Province.
They jointly observed the work of officials at checkpoints to deter corruption and to symbolically demonstrate that all relevant agencies will perform their duties honestly, efficiently, and without corruption, ensuring the effective, equitable, and non-discriminatory enforcement of the Land Transport Act and the Road Traffic Act.
