NACC offices nationwide join forces with Department of Highways to curb corruption in road projects

 

The Office of National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC Office) including its regional and provincial offices nationwide held a brainstorming session with the Department of Highways to prevent corruption in road infrastructure budgets.

 

On June 17, 2026, Mr. Suchart Kruaykitanon, Deputy Secretary-General of the NACC, along with anti-corruption officers, met with Mr. Piyapong Jiwattanakulpaisarn, Director-General of the Department of Highways, and other executives and officials from the Department of Highways at the Sawat Worawithi Meeting Room, Department of Highways, Bangkok.

 

The meeting was also conducted online with executives and officials from the NACC regional and provincial offices to discuss integrated approaches to monitoring corruption in high-budget road infrastructure construction projects for the fiscal year 2026.

 

The meeting discussed project details, progress, and collaborative approaches to monitoring corruption in high-budget projects of 100 million baht or more of the Department of Highways. The operational plan and the anti-corruption monitoring plan for budget-receiving units were presented.

 

The meeting also assigned coordinators between the NACC regional and provincial offices, and jointly considering problems and obstacles encountered in the operation, along with solutions.

 

This joint meeting is considered a significant integrated effort between the agencies. It allows NACC executives and staff from the anti-corruption groups at both the regional and provincial levels throughout Thailand to present and exchange information on monitoring and preventing corruption in large-scale road construction projects directly with executives and staff of the Department of Highways. This aims to create concrete anti-corruption measures in accordance with the policy of the Secretary-General of the NACC.

 

The NACC is committed to preventing corruption in all dimensions and supports government agencies in jointly driving the enforcement of laws rigorously in order to create a transparent and just society.
