NACC Yasothon monitors revival of Khueang Kham pumping station after 10-year disuse
The Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s Yasothon Provincial Office (NACC Yasothon Office) is monitoring the repair of the Khueang Kham pumping station which had not been used for 10 years after construction.
The Director of the NACC Yasothon Office assigned officers from the corruption prevention group to conduct a field inspection to prevent and reduce corruption cases in the area, specifically monitoring and preventing corruption in the repair of the rlectric pumping station and water supply system in Ban Khueang Kham, which has a budget of 5,000,000 baht, located in Khueang Kham Subdistrict, Mueang Yasothon District, Yasothon Province.
The responsible agency is the Yasothon Provincial Irrigation Project. The project deputy director Mr. Chayut Songchanthuk, along with irrigation engineers and relevant officials, provided information on the project to the NACC team during the inspection.
The project involves the repair and improvement of the pumping station building, irrigation canals, water pumps, pumping platforms, and riverbank pipes, including erosion prevention, spanning 1.7 kilometers, benefits approximately 50 households in the area. The repair was undertaken from October 2025 to February 2026. The pumping station had been constructed in 2012, but it was only operational for two years before becoming unused.
Therefore, the project requested funding to repair and improve it for reuse. The repair is now complete and awaiting handover to the Khueang Kham Subdistrict Administrative Organisation.
This field visit is part of the monitoring, observation, and follow-up of project implementation under the economic development plan within the 157 billion baht budget from the 2025 fiscal year central budget.
