NACC lauds “STRONG” for creating human force to combat corruption nationwide

The National Anti-Corruption Commission Thailand (NACC) has commended the STRONG networks for their achievements in monitoring corruption and building anti-corruption allies nationwide.
The STRONG project has been continuously implemented by the NACC in alignment with the national strategy on the prevention and suppression of corruption, 3rd phase (2017 - 2021). In the past, STRONG focused on encouraging people to combat corruption together in small groups. STRONG later shifted its focus on strengthening communities to monitor corruption risks and conflicts of interest.
Many investigations into corruption cases were launched as a result of the work of STRONG, the NACC said.
The STRONG networks survey and monitor areas prone to corruption or conflicts of interest. The networks then forward corruption-related information as well as problems faced by the local people to the NACC or government agencies responsible for the respective problems.
Today, there are STRONG networks in 262 districts nationwide (as of 15 February 2023) with the mutual goals to develop communities in line with the Sufficiency Economy concept, promote transparency, and build awareness of corruption.
The NACC has developed its “Anti-Corruption Toolbox” of innovations and tools that every STRONG member could make use of to fight corruption. The Anti-Corruption Toolbox is available online at www.nacc.go.th/anticorruptiontoolbox.
