NACC Pathum Thani Investigates Factory in Khlong Ha for Wastewater Discharge and Suspected Encroachment on Agricultural Land Reform Zones

The Pathum Thani provincial Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission of Thailand (NACC) conducted an on-site inspection, following local complaints of a factory inappropriately releasing wastewater onto the public. The factory is also suspected of intruding on the Agricultural Land Reform Zones. The Khlong Ha Subdistrict Administrative Organization also found that the factory has been operating without a permit, and summoned the operator for clarification.

Thitiporn Suwannaklang, Director of the NACC office in Pathum Thani Province, accompanied by officials of the Corruption Prevention Unit of NACC, conducted a field inspection following public tip-offs regarding the risk of corruption in the granting of construction permits. The suspicion is that land may have been encroached upon, specifically land under the jurisdiction of the Agricultural Land Reform program, in the area of Khlong Ha Subdistrict in Khlong Luang District of Pathum Thani Province. Additionally, the factory in question has been discharging wastewater that impacts local residents.

Upon inspection of the said area, in collaboration with officials from the Khlong Ha Subdistrict Administrative Organization, it was initially found through document verification and land measurements that the factory had not obtained the required construction permits for the land in question. Furthermore, the factory was found to be releasing industrial wastewater through drainage pipes, leading to stagnant water and emitting a foul smell, corroborating the received public complaints.

Director Thitiporn has thus notified the Khlong Ha Subdistrict Administrative Organization to urgently investigate whether the business operator has legally applied for the said building construction permits and also to verify whether the land in question genuinely falls under the Agricultural Land Reform  program. In the event of any legal violations, prompt actions must be taken. All relevant documentary evidence must be submitted to the NACC office in Pathum Thani Province for further detailed scrutiny.
