NACC Sa Kaeo Office joins hands with STRONG Club to monitor truck weighing station
The Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s Sa Kaeo Provincial Office (NACC Sa Kaeo Office) and the STRONG-Sufficiency Economy Against Corruption Club of Sa Kaeo Province conducted a Watch & Voice activity to monitor operations at the Watthana Nakhon Weighing Station regarding cases of corruption related to overloaded trucks.
On January 26, 2026, Mr. Chaiwat Phunilamai, Director of the NACC Sa Kaeo Office, along with the corruption prevention unit and the STRONG Club of Sa Kaeo, conducted a Watch & Voice activity to monitor the operations of the Watthana Nakhon Weighing Station (Outbound), Huai Chot Subdistrict, Watthana Nakhon District, Sa Kaeo Province, to prevent corruption related to overloaded trucks, with the station chief, civil engineer, and relevant officials providing relevant information.
They found that the officers at Watthana Nakhon Weighing Station (Outbound were strictly performing their duties in accordance with the relevant regulations and laws. This includes the implementation of automated technology systems in operations, such as the Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) system for weighing trucks while they are in motion.
In addition, measures related to supervising and monitoring the performance of officials have been implemented. It was found that the truck weight alert system at the weigh station notifies both the Watthana Nakhon Weighing Station and the central network control center, allowing for 24-hour monitoring and verification of the station's officials' work. This is to prevent corruption, especially regarding the issue of unlawful neglect of duty by those involved, which is consistent with the policy and guidelines for resolving the problem of overloaded trucks that the NACC recommended to the Cabinet on June 16, 2023.
However, the NACC Sa Kaeo Office noted concerns regarding the truck inspection operations at the weighing station, as there are multiple routes in the area, and overloaded trucks may avoid using the route where a weighing station is located. This may result in insufficient coverage in the inspection of overloaded trucks in Sa Kaeo Province.
The NACC Sa Kaeo Office has discussed with the Watthana Nakhon Weighing Station (Outbound) on the establishment of mobile vehicle weighing stations or spot check points on secondary roads or other roads at risk of overloading, in order to make the prevention of corruption related to overloaded trucks in Sa Kaeo Province more comprehensive and concrete.
In addition, the NACC Sa Kaeo Office suggested the weighing station to record detailed information and names of employers or transport operators to serve as a database for investigators in prosecuting truck operators who are wrongdoers, as recommended by the Anti-Corruption Commission.
The NACC Sa Kaeo Office will continue to work with relevant sectors to prevent corruption related to overloaded trucks in Sa Kaeo Province.
