The people’s and private sectors have submitted several anti-corruption proposals to seek financial support from the National Anti-Corruption Fund in the 2021 fiscal year.
The Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (ONACC) operates the fund, which is known as "NACC Fund,” established in line with the Organic Act on Anti-Corruption B.E. 2561 (2018).
NACC President Police General Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit, in his capacity as Chairman of the NACC Fund Committee, recently held the third meeting of the committee in the current fiscal year to consider the proposals, which involve more than 100 projects and activities.
The NACC Fund aims to support the people’s sector for public participation in inspecting the use of state power and to support the private sector in conducting public relations or campaigning to prevent corruption.
It will offer financial assistance for protection measures as well as compensation and rewards. The fund will also be used to protect the operations of NACC, chief inquiry officers, inquiry officers, and relevant officials, as well as to support the operations of anti-corruption officials.
The Government will provide subsidies for the fund, which also consists of fruits derived from money and property of the NACC Fund. The NACC Fund Committee was set up to supervise the management of the fund.
It is responsible for setting policies, approving projects and activities that seek financial support from the fund, and conducting performance evaluations of the fund, which is intended to fight corruption more effectively and raise public awareness of the dangers of corruption.
