The Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has expanded its complaint channels for people to lodge corruption complaints or submit evidence, saying the provision of various complaint channels will encourage public participation to combat corruption in the Thai society.
NACC Secretary-General Niwatchai Kasemmongkol said public participation was a key mechanism to prevent corruption by promoting anti-corruption awareness in the society and alerting the NACC to corruption risks. Mr. Niwatchai encouraged people to lodge complaints or submit evidence to any NACC office nationwide in verbal or written forms.
It did not matter whether the accuser was the victim or not, he said.
Apart from the offline channel, The NACC operates a 24-hr online complaint channel on www.nacc.go.th. It has launched the application “NACC Mobile” for Android for people to provide tip-offs, follow up on their complaints and access the NACC’s services. The application is being developed for iOS
The NACC hoped that all of its complaint channels, online and offline, would give people more convenience to send the commission information related to corruption, the secretary-general said.
Mr. Niwatchai also ensured informants of anonymity and confidentiality and warned that false leads would result in criminal charges.
