NACC Sakon Nakhon Conducts Inspection and Identifies Flaws in Nong Wai Water Network Project

The Sakon Nakhon Provincial Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has collaborated with the Office of Water Resources Region 4 to urgently address the issue of the inoperative sections in the Nong Wai Water Network Project.
Monyanis Pongpetchdit, the Director of the NACC's Sakon Nakhon Provincial Office, assigned anti-corruption officials to survey the area in Nong Lat Sub-district, Mueang Sakon Nakhon District, Sakon Nakhon Province. The action followed complaints from local citizens that certain areas of the Nong Wai Water Network Project, with a construction budget of 92.40 million baht, were not functional. This has hindered the community's full utilization of the water resources as intended by the project.
Regarding this matter, the Sakon Nakhon NACC office has coordinated with the Department of Water Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, to resolve the aforementioned difficulties faced by the local population. Field inspections were conducted on September 9th.
The latest update reveals that Siwadol Uppapong, the supervising engineer from the Office of Water Resources Region 4, has visited the project site located in Ban Tung Mang, Nong Lat Sub-district, in the Capital District. After explanations and system tests were carried out, it was found that there were points where the water pipes were damaged, affecting its operation. Mr. Siwadol, the supervising engineer of the project, informed that urgent actions will be taken to fix the damaged areas to ensure that the community can fully benefit from the water supply, especially in the upcoming dry season. As for the issues related to administration and coordination in the local area, prompt public awareness campaigns will be initiated. The citizens will also be enabled to monitor and coordinate directly with the responsible personnel, and any relevant officers.
The Sakon Nakhon Provincial Office of the NACC will conduct a further review of the project's operations to prevent any corruption or malpractices that are not in compliance with governmental regulations in the future.
