NACC Discusses with MDES on Applying Information Technology to Enhance Operational Efficiency
The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) have held a meeting to discuss and exchange ideas on how to apply digital technology to support the NACC's administrative operations more effectively while maintaining transparency and accountability.
Niwatchai Kasemmongkol, NACC Secretary-General and spokesperson, along with NACC executives and related officials, met with Wisit Wisitsora-at, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, and relevant officials at the NACC meeting room (Sanambinnam).
This meeting was convened to discuss the implementation of information technology in supporting the administrative operations of the NACC to increase efficiency. Presently, the NACC has developed its information systems and adopted digital technology to assist the managerial tasks of NACC executives and personnel. This is aimed at transitioning the NACC's work processes to digital platforms and leveraging digital data to drive the efficiency, transparency, and societal trust in the NACC.
The meeting not only focused on the exchange of ideas for the digital technology application to enhance the efficiency of the NACC's administration but also considered the enhancement and development of existing digital technology and information systems within the NACC. This exchange was based on the shared recognition of the importance of developing digital technology and elevating the existing information technology systems for further efficiency.
The consensus of the meeting emphasized the prioritization of measures to prevent corruption at all levels. Particularly for MDES, which is central to the information network and is committed to the development of information technology for administrative management and service provision.
Currently, there are directly responsible units within the ministry, including the anti-corruption operation center, the technology and information offense prevention and suppression division, the information technology and communications center, the strategy and planning division, as well as the national reform and strategy group. Moreover, various other agencies under the ministry will cooperate in coordination with the Office of the NACC. This cooperation involves supporting and aiding the development of work processes directly related to the digital data linkage to benefit various operations, particularly in jointly monitoring or tracking corruption situations or information technology offenses by state officials, which could subsequently become a national issue.
