NACC Announces Schedule for Senate Members to Submit Assets and Liabilities Declarations Recommends Online Submission for Convenience and Speed
The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has notified incoming and outgoing Senators to submit their assets and liabilities declarations upon taking office or vacation leaving from office. The submission period is within 60 days, with the recommendation to use the online system at https://asset.nacc.go.th/ods-app for convenience, efficient data management, and easy submission. Declarations can be submitted from July 24th to September 21st, 2024. If unable to meet the deadline, an extension of up to 30 days can be requested, with the submission deadline being September 21st, 2024.
Niwatchai Kasemmongkol, Secretary-General of the NACC, acting as the spokesperson, announced that following the Royal Decree for Senate elections and the subsequent announcement of elected Senate members by the Election Commission, new Senate members assumed office on July 23rd, 2024. This necessitates the submission of asset and liability declarations by both incoming and outgoing Senate members. According to the 2018 Organic Act on Counter Corruption, Section 102 mandates that persons holding political positions must declare their assets and liabilities, as well as their spouses and minor children.
The NACC has outlined the procedures for submitting these declarations along with supporting documents as follows:
If the asset and liability declarations cannot be submitted within the specified period, a request for an extension of up to 30 days can be submitted, with the deadline for such requests being September 21st, 2024.
Declarations, along with supporting documents, should be submitted using the NACC's prescribed forms. There are three submission methods available:
The NACC encourages online submission as it allows for easy data management and secure storage, ensuring no data loss and facilitating future submissions. It also saves time, reduces the need for travel, and provides a secure user experience with identity verification steps.
