An inspector-general of the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) conducted an on-site visit to monitor the ongoing landscape improvement and Sky Walk construction project at the Khao Tha Phet Nature and Wildlife Study Center in Surat Thani Province. The project, with a budget of over 30 million baht, is under close scrutiny to ensure transparency and minimize the risk of corruption. The inspector emphasized that every step must be transparent to benefit the public.
Mr. Piset Nakapan, NACC Inspector General, stated that this visit to Surat Thani Province aimed to monitor the progress of the government’s operational plan and the disbursement of the annual budget for the fiscal year 2024, covering the first to third quarters. The visit also sought to address any challenges encountered during the implementation of the plan. Mr. Piset urged NACC officials to strictly adhere to legal principles, focusing on preventing and combating corruption in a tangible manner.
Additionally, the Inspector-General participated in an on-site inspection of the Sky Walk construction and landscape improvement project at the Khao Tha Phet Nature and Wildlife Study Center, which is currently under construction. The project, with a contracted budget of 30 million baht, is considered a high-budget initiative that requires meticulous monitoring and caution to ensure that the construction aligns with the design and specifications, and that all disbursements are made according to the contract. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024 and is anticipated to attract more tourists to the center, thereby boosting the local tourism economy. The NACC inspector emphasized the need for the NACC office in Surat Thani to continuously monitor the project until its completion.
