NACC inspects construction of child development center in Kwian Hak, Chanthaburi
The Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s Regional Office 2 (NACC Region 2 Office) and the NACC Chanthaburi office inspected the construction project of the child development center building in the Kwian Hak Subdistrict Municipality.
On March 26, 2026, Police Major General Arun Amornviriyakul, Deputy Secretary-General of the NACC Region 2 Office, assigned officers from his office, to conduct a site visit with the NACC Chanthaburi Office to inspect and follow up on the progress of the child development center building construction project in the Kwian Hak Subdistrict Municipality, following the dissemination of images on social media showing the building remained unused despite being handed over in 2019.
During the site visit, officials from the Kwian Hak Subdistrict Municipality provided relevant information and details.
The investigation revealed that after the completion of construction, the project faced the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to the building being used as a quarantine facility for those at risk.
Subsequently, in 2024, the Municipality repeatedly requested budget allocations for the construction of a perimeter fence around the building, but no budget has been allocated. The need to construct the fence stems from the fact that the area behind the building borders a canal and the front borders a road, which could affect the safety of young children. This has resulted in a delay in the building’s opening.
Currently, the Municipality is in the process of requesting additional budget to construct iron gates at the front and back of the building so that it can be opened for use and expects it to be open during the second semester of this academic year. It also plans the construction of the surrounding fence afterwards.
The NACC Region 2 Office and the NACC Chanthaburi Office requested that the relevant agencies report on the progress continuously and expedite the completion of the work.
